Toronto Week of Style Blogs It Up

Attention: Fashion Editors

Toronto, Canada (May 8, 2007) – In what has to be a first in Canada, the Toronto Week of Style has provided the biggest bloggers in the country full media designation.

"It makes total sense" says Executive Producer Zaigham Zulqernain, "collectively, these blogs have a much bigger readership than their offline counterparts. I was actually shocked to learn that the event similar to ours didn't provide media passes to them. With blogs quickly becoming the most important and most read means of disseminating news, their importance to us is not lost."

"Not only are we providing them access, we are giving some of them cameras to document their experience, " says Director of PR, Andrea Ciccone, "we expect them to be honest and report what they see and experience because that is what the consumer so rightfully deserves."

About the Toronto Week of Style

The Toronto Week of Style, (http://weekofstyle.com), taking place this May 23rd - 26th, 2007, was created to support the up and coming talent in the style industry, both locally and globally. It will do so by creating a promotional channel for all creators of lifestyle components (including but not limited to fashion, cosmetics, hair care, liquor, phones, and cars), with a secondary focus on providing marketers with a viable marketing channel to communicate directly with the cultural tastemakers that create and drive the trends that guide the mass consumer (being both the creators of style and those that partake in it).

We believe that fashion is the foundation of style and will always remain an important part of it. Fashion weeks around the world still play a vital and important role as its sole purpose is to feed the retail distribution channels so that fashion designers can earn a living. Whereas, the Toronto Week of Style is important because it provides a direct channel to the consumer for both the brand/fashion designer and the store that sells the product, whether that brand is a huge fashion icon or an up and coming designer.

The Toronto Week of Style consists of six fashion shows over four days:

- bambumoda: The show will act as trend forecaster for what’s going to be the hot item/fashion accessories/clothing, etc. All brands involved will be hand-picked, making this one of the hottest tickets in the marketing and trend forecasting world.

- The final judging and showcase event for Canada’s first ever ‘fashion fringe’ competition. Inspired by the wildly successful event that takes place during London Fashion Week, Fashion Fringe is the first ever national campaign to recruit the hottest undiscovered design talent in Canada.

- the Art of Denim. The Week of Style will partner with three to five of the hottest brands of denim to showcase their lines.

- The Sweet Escape - The 1st Annual Bikini Fashion Show. Week of Style will partner with various retailers of swimwear to put on what is sure to be the steamiest event of the season. - Lust & Seduction - The 1st Annual Lingerie Fashion Show. Week of Style will partner with a retailer of lingerie to put on what is sure to be the most talked about event of the season.

- Sparkle!…Canada’s premiere pop culture fashion event. Borrowing from various aspects of pop culture, Sparkle will explore the world of high-end fashion with an evening of music, gorgeous people and a behind-the-scenes look into the world of glitz and glamour. The evening will present to consumers clothing and accessories in the vein of VH1’s Fashion Rocks with an infusion of pop culture.
